Metal Slug 6 is on the UsuArcade coming-soon list. Once it lands in the arcade, it will play as online two-player co-op: you on your phone or PC, your friend on theirs, in the same game and in real time.
History
It arrived in 2006 from SNK Playmore, and this time not on the Neo Geo but on Sammy's Atomiswave board, one of the last new arcade platforms of its era. It's the sixth numbered game, following Metal Slug 5.
Its big draw was the roster: for the first time Ralf and Clark, the soldiers from Ikari Warriors and The King of Fighters, joined Marco, Tarma, Eri and Fio as playable characters.
How to play
The core is classic Metal Slug: run, gun, throw grenades, free POWs and hop into vehicles. What's new is that each of the six soldiers has a perk of their own: some get more out of the pistol, others out of grenades or vehicles, and Ralf and Clark brawl up close with punches and grapples straight out of a fighting game.
You can also keep a special weapon in reserve and switch between it and the one you're using, instead of losing it when you grab another. The Rush Blaster meter fills as you chain kills without a break and multiplies the points for every enemy you drop, so if you're chasing a high score, play aggressive.
