When Marvel vs. Capcom hit arcades, fighting games turned into a fireworks show: partners tagging in and out, screen-filling supers and air combos that never seemed to end. Watching over somebody's shoulder was almost as fun as playing.

History
Capcom released Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes in 1998, after several fighters starring Marvel characters. It was the first to throw comic book heroes and classic Capcom characters into the same ring.
Its fast, over-the-top style launched a series that's still a fan favorite.
How to play
You pick two fighters and can tag between them mid-match; whoever's resting recovers some health. Before each fight you also get a random assist character you can call in for a special attack.
There are super jumps, air combos and supers that burn your hyper meter. With enough meter, both members of your team can unload their biggest attack at once. Capcom's side includes faces like Ryu, Chun-Li, Mega Man and Strider Hiryu, while Marvel brings Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk and Captain America.

- Captain Commando, another Capcom arcade hero, shows up as a playable fighter.
- Mega Man is one of the most beloved picks on Capcom's side.
- The final boss is Onslaught, a giant villain from the Marvel universe.
